Living on purpose!
Jennifer shares her #InnerWisdom about supporting people in living their full life and doing something they love to do.
Jennifer shares that she grew up with a mom with mental health issues, and the challenges she faced. Jennifer believes that taught her many lessons, including not judging others, being patient and listening, being curious and asking questions. She is supportive and helps people re-frame their experience and facing the situation to move forward.
Jennifer shares her own struggles and how she overcame those. The time when we are struggling is a time to reflect. Jennifer believes that taking the negative situation to reflect on herself and where she wants to be, and what she can do accomplish, and what the lessons were for herself.
Jennifer is a senior account manager at the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC). She is so excited that she gets to live and work in a small community where many of the businesses are women led. She believes that building resilience comes from supporting each other. She believes that women entrepreneurs are often too hard on themselves and try to do it all, but asking for help allows them to grow. We shouldn't expect to be an expert at EVERYTHING! Let's get entrepreneurs the help and expertise they need to grow, reminding them it is ok to get support.
Jennifer thinks about the future of young women, she believes that building confidence in young people is important. Setting small milestones and achievements. Recognizing that just getting out there and showing up is an achievement is important. Each milestone reduces anxiety, celebrates individuality, and recognizes the skill set. Leading by example, being honest about the challenges are some of the best lessons we can teach young people. Making connections and learning what they are looking for, helping them find the right connections for the future!
Failure is the best learning. Jennifer shares her son's story of troubles and the lessons he learned from an experience he had as a young person. He had to make choices about his decisions and take control of his life. When you can own your mistake, and want to do better, then you have a new perspective. The decisions coming after are founded with an understanding of consequences!
Jennifer shares her gratitude of living on purpose!
