Growing up on a communist country
Tanya shares her story of growing up in Bulgaria when it was a communist country. She talks about the fairy tale world without poverty, homelessness or hunger. She talks about the changes that happened when the economy collapsed after the fall of the Berlin wall.
Tanya has traveled throughout the world, but chosen to move back to Bulgaria to raise her family. Although she has traveled and chosen her home, she has found herself leaving a piece of her heart in other countries, missing the food, culture and dance. She shares her love of meeting new people, and learning about new cultures and new perspectives on life.
Tanya is looking forward to learning new things, and has a lengthy wish list of items including art and making sour dough bread to do in the future.
Her love of nature and the mountains is a wonderful reason to come home and bring her family. Tanya shares many of the beautiful reasons to visit Bulgaria including the city of Sofia. The architecture, the history, and the food.
Tanya shares that she is able to come back to her roots with her children, but home is where you make special connections, and where you truly build your life. Tanya believes that you meet people who capture a piece of your heart. You may not be with them forever, but the impression they make can last a lifetime. You may find yourself thousands of kilometers apart, but still in your thoughts and that is the best part of traveling!
