Trust your instincts!
Danielle took a leap of faith and trusted herself! It is a decision that has lead her to a wonderful career opportunity.
Danielle is very proud of the work she is doing and the people she is supporting.
From 2014 to 2016 the Antigonish Women's Resource Center partnered with Paq'tnkek Mi'kmaq Nation to create and implement community-based survivor-centered collaborative responses to gender-based violence.
Emerging from this was Circles of Support and Change, a 5 year project, that will create supports and community connections for survivors of gender-based violence and or sexual assault.
NSCC Stait Area Campus is one of three sites, to faciliate this project. Others include Canso and Linconville.
Danielle's role on campus is to help support students around sexualized violence and navigate them to community and campus resources. She works alongside the campus elders and counselors to help support students. She also facilitates workshops/presentations around the NSCC Sexual Violence Policy, gender-based violence, consent, bistander training and helping to change the language and culture around these matters.
Danielle is passionate, and stands in solidarity with those affected. She hangs a red dress in her office, and shows her compassion and support for others. Click to learn more about The Red Dress Project or Antigonish Women's Reource Centre.
All of this is possible for Danielle because she trusted herself, took a leap of faith, and is living her best life!
