It makes my heart happy!
Nadine shares her journey to where she is today. She has lived in Montreal, Switzerland and now Nova Scotia. Nadine has lived here for the last 15 years and calls this home.
Nadine wears many hats, but each and everyone gives her an opportunity to work in nature and work with youth. Nadine loves trying new things, challenging herself and youth. Nadine speaks about the full circle magical moment she experienced in her work, this summer a participant became a leader and she watched first hand the new role model surface.
Nadine looked for a role model growing up that she could connect with, someone she could identify with, she lacked the support system to find a mentor that would help her, instead she felt pains of jealousy. Nadine has found that nature is the great equalizer, it gives everyone exactly what they need. The forrest you can be anyone you want to be from a acrobat to a scientist, from independence to a big group, from loud to quiet. Nature loves you just the way you are. Nature doesn't care about what you have going on, it is just there for YOU!
Nadine and her friend Catherine began Curvy Girls Hiking. This was created to support health at every size. To be welcomed as they are, and a place and space where people can share their inside thoughts with the world. It is a space where Nadine has learned that being herself feels really good. One of the biggest comments that Nadine hears is that someone couldn't come because of their fear of being the slowest or last. It is powerful how everyone thinks the same. Nadine has found her space that makes her heart happy!
The goal of Curvy Girls Hiking is that the attitudes are inclusive, accessible and welcoming. Be sure to visit them on Facebook and Instagram @CurvyGirlsHiking. If you would like more information you can reach Nadine at firstname.lastname@example.org
