The sense of community and connection drew me to music.
Erin is a classically trained musician, however strongly believes that arts and music should be inclusive and part of the performance, thanks to an early introduction by a teacher who created fun musical experiences.
Erin is the founder of Hear Here Productions. She creates experiences that are in community spaces and places outdoors that incorporate a variety of artistic mediums from music, dance, story telling and interpretation. You can see an example of her show Burnwater in this video - vimeo.com/burnwater. Her goal is to reach people on a fundamental human level, to engage youth through to seniors, and to help make art part of the community.
Erin suggest that we take a look around at where we spend our dollars in art, we talk about buying local and supporting local, and we should look at that in terms of art as well. To build a healthy artistic community we need to consider where our dollars are spent and what we want for our own community. Erin challenges us to try to live one day without consuming art and learn how much art affects our life.
Erin shares a little sneak peak of what is coming up next for her and Here Hear Productions, stay tuned for more details on her Facebook Page. Be sure to look and see what is happening with Musique Royale.
